Nominations are open for the Volunteer Recognition Awards
Submit by Monday, March
21 to recognize someone who makes a positive difference in Vaughan
Do you know someone who has made a positive difference in the community
in 2021? Nominate them for the City of Vaughan’s Volunteer Recognition Awards!
The City is calling on
Vaughan-based not-for-profit organizations and community groups to put forward
one outstanding volunteer whose passion and actions have made a significant
impact on the health and well-being of the community.
They will be recognized
for their generous community service, which has contributed to the high quality
of life in Vaughan and beyond.
The following
nomination criteria is required:
- Only one volunteer may be nominated from each organization
- There are two age categories: youth (13 to 24 years old) or adult (25 years or older)
- Nominator must be a member on the governing board of the organization to nominate
- Volunteers may not nominate themselves
- The volunteer may not be in receipt of any direct/indirect compensation
- The nominee or the nominating organization must be located in Vaughan
- The organization must be supporting Vaughan in some capacity
Nominations will be
accepted now until Monday, March 21. To submit a nomination, visit vaughan.ca/VolunteerAwards.
This year, the City
will honour outstanding volunteers of 2021 with a special virtual event. The
ceremony will be streamed online on Wednesday, April 27 at 7 p.m.
