If you have gently used household items you want to clear out, don’t throw them in the garbage – save them for Curbside Giveaway Days this weekend! From Saturday, Sept. 23 to Sunday, Sept. 24, participate in this waste reduction program by placing gently used items at the curb for your neighbours to take, free of charge.

Here’s what you need to know to participate successfully:

  • Place your materials curbside on the designated Curbside Giveaway Days, starting at 7 a.m., for your neighbours to discover.
    • Any items not claimed must be brought in by 5 p.m. on Sunday. Items left at the curb after that time could result in a by-law violation.
  • Download and print a “FREE” curbside giveaway poster (PDF) to place on your items.
  • Promote your items by using #VaughanCurbGiveaway on social media.
  • Keep items you do not want to give away close to your home or inside to avoid confusion.
  • Keep sidewalks and fire hydrants clear.
  • Only take items from other properties that are marked “free.”
  • Respect private property and do not walk on people’s lawns or gardens.
  • Obey traffic laws at all times – please do not block traffic or driveways.
