Submit, track and pay for building and development permits through the City’s online tool

Need to submit a permit request? Unsure about the status of your development application? Looking for a way to pay fees online? Through the City’s digital platform, Service Vaughan, building-industry professionals and members of the community can easily apply for a building permit or planning application, track its progress and pay for it all in one place through vaughan.ca/ServiceVaughan.

The City continues to modify and transition many services and programs online to better support citizens and businesses. The Service Vaughan platform is one of these innovations – and it continues to expand. The tool offers a 24/7, easily accessible and efficient first point of contact for all service requests, permit applications, non-emergency reporting, and garbage tag, blue box and green bin purchases, among others.

The latest feature is the Building and Development option. Users can submit, review and pay for development engineering permit applications, including grading and pool permits, in addition to applying for building permits and estimating development charges.

The tool also receives requests for:
  • animal services, including getting a pet licence.
  • bids and tenders, including application submissions.
  • by-law, including parking permits and paying for a ticket online.
  • debris, vandalism and graffiti, including reporting instances across the city.
  • employment, including available job postings and application submissions.
  • garbage and recycling, including tag purchases, bin exchanges and purchases, missed garbage and recycling collections and more.
  • parks, trees and grass, including maintenance requests and complaints.
  • recreation, including activity registration.
  • roads and sidewalks, including maintenance requests and complaints.
  • signs and sidewalks, including reporting an issue.
  • water and wastewater, including reporting issues, Bulk Water Program registration and more.
Stay tuned for additional services coming to the Service Vaughan platform in the future.

Further benefits of the reporting tool include a tracking feature to check the status of select online submissions, the option to receive auto updates either via email or through the online tool, and the ability to provide feedback upon completion of the request.

Non-residents are able to submit online requests if the inquiry is directly related to one of Vaughan’s City services.

Broken glass, vandalized park equipment, leaking water meters and watermain breaks are examples of municipal emergencies or problems that require immediate attention and should not be reported through Service Vaughan. Call Access Vaughan at 905-832-2281 to report these types of incidents.
