Change is coming to the Yonge Street and Steeles Avenue corridor. The City of Vaughan’s Development Planning department is preparing the Yonge-Steeles Corridor Urban Design and Streetscape Plan – and you can get involved!

Want to learn more about the vision for the corridor? Join a virtual public meeting on Monday, March 6, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Participants will hear from the project team about:

  • the project and study updates.
  • the project design framework.
  • draft streetscape plans and design guidelines.
  • how the updated plan will be implemented.

A live question-and-answer period will also take place during the meeting.

A link to tune into the meeting will be made available on Monday, March 6 at vaughan.ca/YongeSteeles.

Can’t attend the meeting? You can still get involved.

Project materials will be made available online following the live meeting – review them and submit comments directly to the project team via email at yongesteeles@vaughan.ca until Monday, March 27.

More about the Yonge-Steeles Urban Design and Streetscape Plan

The plan builds on existing City policy frameworks and guidelines to support the evolution of the Yonge-Steeles Corridor as an attractive, transit-oriented, vibrant and sustainable urban environment and an inviting destination for people and businesses. The study area is located on the northwest side of Yonge Street and Steeles Avenue, from Yonge Street to Palm Gate Boulevard and from Steeles Avenue to Highway 407, separated by the Thornhill Heritage Conservation District.

Once complete, the Yonge-Steeles Urban Design and Streetscape Plan will be a reference document for the City and developers to help guide public and private development within the study area. For more information, visit vaughan.ca/YongeSteeles.
