PSA: Celebrating Vaughan’s thriving art and culture scene

Tenth annual Culture Days returns with more than 30 events

 

As a vibrant city with an incredible art and cultural community, Vaughan is pleased to present Culture Days. A celebration of art, music and food, the event runs from Friday, Sept. 27 to Sunday, Sept. 29. The City is showcasing its spirit for diversity, inspiration and inclusion by hosting a weekend of free activities for families, friends and visitors to enjoy.

Culture Days is a free, national event offering participating communities an enriched local art and cultural experience through activities, exhibits and festivals. In Vaughan, programming highlights the unique, historic and emerging establishments, including the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, the Thoreau MacDonald House, Vaughan Mills and the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC).

The 10th annual Vaughan Culture Days will feature more than 30 events, including the official launch on Thursday, Sept. 26 at VMC Transit Square, located at 100 New Park Place. Join the celebration from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to enjoy Figura by ThinkinEd and an official welcome from Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua. 

Additional programming also includes:

  • Indigenous Garden opening at McMichael Canadian Art Collection (Friday, Sept. 20)
  • Live art competition at VMC Transit Square hosted by Alfresco Creative Clash! (Friday, Sept. 27)
  • Evening Lounge – Music in the Square at VMC Transit Square hosted by Arcadia Live! Productions (Friday, Sept. 27)
  • Vaughan Lobster Fest at Dufferin Clark Community Centre hosted by the Philippine Heritage Band and the Filipino-Canadian Association of Vaughan (Saturday, Sept. 28)
  • Cultura Latina Salsa Dancing at Vaughan Mills hosted by Fuerza Latina Community Services (Saturday, Sept. 28)
