Ward 5 Civic Hero Award presented to Pam Taraday-Levy

Strong communities are built when people come together for the collective good. Every resident has the power to influence positive change. That’s why Vaughan Council established a Civic Hero program to recognize citizens who make an impact.

The City of Vaughan is home to a number of ratepayers groups that monitor local issues and bring them to the attention of Council. As president of the SpringFarm Ratepayers Association, Pam Taraday-Levy has been instrumental in advocating for her Thornhill neighbourhood. In recognition of her volunteer efforts, she was presented with the Civic Hero Award for Ward 5 by Vaughan Council yesterday.

Since becoming president of the SpringFarm Ratepayers Association almost three years ago, Taraday-Levy has seen its membership grow to more than 1,000. The organization is made up of dedicated members who offer their time and energy to a number of causes including new developments, stormwater and transit.
