Virtual programming and
events available in Vaughan throughout May
As part of Vaughan's commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, the City recognizes Asian Heritage Month and Jewish Heritage Month in May through its Cultural Heritage Events Program. This month, a series of virtual events and programming will be available for citizens to learn about, share and celebrate the culture of Asian Canadians and Jewish Canadians.

Ontario Jewish Archives (OJA) Virtual Walking Tours
Travel back in time to an era when Kensington Market was a thriving
Jewish village teeming with kosher bakeries, synagogues and social
clubs. On this first-ever virtual tour, Jewish Toronto's past biographies
of its former inhabitants, the sounds, Yiddish language, and religious,
social and political attitudes are brought to life. Visits to the architectural
gems that remain in the area today are supplemented by photographs from the
holdings of the OJA as vivid reminders of a once vibrant community.
