The City urges citizens to continue following all COVID-19 directives

The weekend is almost here, and many citizens are getting ready to enjoy their time with friends and family on a patio, in a shop or hanging out in the backyard. Everyone has worked hard to be able to go out and do these activities, and it is important to remember that the fight against COVID-19 is not over – please remain vigilant, take precautions and stay safe.

York Region – and Vaughan – are currently in Step 3 of the Province of Ontario’s Roadmap to Reopening. Here is a summary of what is permitted in the Province’s Step 3:

It is important that everyone stays vigilant and follows York Region Public Health protocols designed to help protect the health of the entire community, including:
  • staying home as much as possible and limiting close contact to those in your immediate household.
  • practising physical distancing (PDF) with anyone outside of your household by staying two metres away.
  • washing your hands thoroughly and often.
  • practising respiratory etiquette.
  • avoiding touching your face with unwashed hands.
  • wearing a face mask or covering when inside public places and when physical distancing cannot be maintained.
  • cleaning high-touch surfaces often.
  • getting vaccinated as soon as you are eligible.
