Vaughan residents took 20 minutes on Friday, April 25 to clean up litter in the community for the annual 20-Minute Makeover. More than 17,000 people from local schools, businesses and citizens groups participated in the event in honour of Pitch-In Canada Week and Earth Day.

Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua joined students and staff from Herbert H. Carnegie public school for this year’s kick-off event. Free garbage bags were provided by the City and plastic gloves were donated by Tim Hortons. This year, 45 schools, nine businesses and City of Vaughan staff participated in the 20-Minute Makeover.
