The City of Vaughan is looking for input on how our Council and Committee meetings are run.

Take an online survey by Tuesday, Nov. 19 to help us better understand your experience with these meetings and how they could be made more accessible – meaning easier to watch, participate in and understand.

This engagement opportunity is part of a review of our current Procedure By-law, which governs how Committee and Council meetings run, including how they’re called, where they happen, who’s involved, the roles and conduct of Members of Council, reporting requirements and how the City communicates with the public about meetings. It also guides how residents interact with Council by speaking at meetings or submitting written communications.

This review will ensure our approach best supports the good governance of the municipality and aligns with provincial legislation. A final report will be submitted to Council for consideration by September 2025 (before the 2026 Municipal Election).

The City’s Procedure By-law was enacted in 2011 and was last updated in 2021. Under Section 238 of the Municipal Act, 2001, every municipality in Ontario must have a Procedure By-law.
