Sara Tripodi is the 2024 Ward 2 Civic Hero!
During tonight’s Committee of the Whole (Public Meeting), Mayor Steven Del Duca, Ward 2 Councillor Adriano Volpentesta and Members of Council recognized Sara Tripodi as the 2024 Ward 2 Civic Hero with a special ceremonial presentation.
Sara has dedicated almost 40 years of her life to the care and well-being of older adults in the Vaughan community. She started as a volunteer, helping where she could, and eventually became the general manager of the Pine Grove Lodge, a long-term care home in Woodbridge.
She served as a member of Vaughan’s Age-Friendly Advisory Committee for many years and has chaired the seniors focus committee since 2017. During the global COVID-19 pandemic, Sara dedicated countless hours to support Vaughan’s older adult community, including organizing virtual prayer groups and delivery groceries to those in need.
