Every month, the City releases the top services people are coming to City Hall for that can actually be done online. Here is the September update:

1. Marriage licences
To get a marriage licence, you will still need to visit Vaughan City Hall, but you can save yourself some time by filling out the Marriage Licence Application form (PDF) before you arrive. In-person marriage licences are issued by appointment only, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To book an appointment, visit vaughan.ca/clerks. All licence applications must be submitted by 4:15 p.m. to allow for processing time.

2. Property taxes
The final property tax bills for residential and non-residential properties have been mailed out to all property owners. The final instalment is due Wednesday, Sept. 28.

If you did not receive your tax bill in the mail, contact the City immediately by phone at 905-832-2281 or by email at accessvaughan@vaughan.ca.

There are many easy and convenient ways to pay your bill, including:

  • Financial institutions: In-person, through the bank machine, online or via telephone.
  • Pre-authorized payment plans: An instalment due date plan or a monthly instalment option is offered for the 2022 tax year.
  • Mail: Cheque made payable to the City of Vaughan and sent in the return envelope enclosed with the tax stub.
  • Post-dated cheques: Cheques that correspond with the amounts and due dates printed on the tax stubs.
  • Drop-off box: Cheques with tax stubs can be placed in marked boxes at each entrance of Vaughan City Hall. Cash should not be dropped off in these boxes.
