Sign your kids up to spend the next P.A. Day with Vaughan

Register now for arts and crafts, games, sports and more on Friday, Nov. 18!

Do your kids have plans for the upcoming P.A. Day on Friday, Nov. 18? If not, you’re in luck! The City of Vaughan is offering programming for children aged seven to 13 at select community centres throughout the city.

Kids can spend the day enjoying a variety of programs, including arts and crafts, games, sports, pastel drawing, outdoor play (weather permitting) and learning squash. Pre-registration is required at vaughan.perfectmind.com. For more information, visit vaughan.ca/camps.

P.A. Day programs include:

School’s Out! (for ages seven to 12 years old)
Enjoy a day of camp activities, including games, sports, arts and crafts, outdoor play and special events while making new friends!
Locations: Chancellor, Maple and Vellore Village community centres from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Conquer the Court: Squash (for ages nine to 13 years old)
Ready to “squash” your opponent? Learn how to play squash from a pro – from game rules and tactics to practicing stroke techniques through drills tailored to individual ability. Off the court, challenge yourself to fitness activities, and get cross-training and nutrition advice to strengthen your squash game.
Locations: Maple Community Centre from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Animal Critters: Pastel Drawing (for ages seven to 13 years old)
Animal lovers rejoice! Learn pastel drawing and texturing techniques to illustrate whimsical bees, a fanciful army of frogs, a striking owl and more artistic critters filled with detail. 
Locations: Maple and North Thornhill community centres from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Vellore Village Community Centre from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Family swim lesson (for ages three and up)
Learn introductory, survival swim instruction as a family in this one-time, learn-to-swim session, designed for swimmers of all levels. The swim instructor will assess what swim level each family member should register in. Note: individual registration is required for each family member. Registration includes access to recreational swimming following the lesson. Regular admission guidelines apply for swim participants nine years of age and under. 
Locations: Al Palladini and North Thornhill community centre pools for $10 per family member. 

Drop-in activities
Recreational swimming, skating, sports and game rooms are also available on Friday, Nov. 18 at community centres across the city. View schedules at vaughan.perfectmind.com. Pre-registration and pre-payment are available for your convenience one week before the scheduled activity.

December break camps
The holidays are around the corner, and you may be looking for something your kids can do during the December school break. The City has you covered! Full-day in-person camps for children aged four to 17 will be held at select community centres and the Vaughan Studios & Event Space. Registration is already underway at vaughan.perfectmind.com so be sure to save your spot!

Camps run on weekdays beginning Tuesday, Dec. 27 until Friday, Jan. 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily with flexible drop-off from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and pickup between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Flexible drop-off is not available at the Vaughan Studios & Event Space.
