“I want to congratulate the City of Vaughan’s Recreation Services department for receiving the 2019 LERN International Award for Excellence in Marketing for the Fitness Rebrand and Marketing Campaign.

“The award was presented at Learning Resources Network (LERN)'s annual conference in San Diego and celebrates innovation in the field of lifelong learning and serving communities. It acknowledges our team of hardworking employees who are working to increase new fitness membership registrations and strengthen loyalty and engagement among current members.

“I want to recognize our Recreation Services staff, under the leadership of Mary Reali, Acting City Manager and Deputy City Manager of Community Services, and Sunny Bains, Director of Recreation Services, for their dedicated efforts and strategic approach to marketing and customer satisfaction. These initiatives speak to our mission of continuing to place citizens first through Service Excellence. Fostering active, safe and diverse communities is one of the City’s key strategic priorities. We remain committed to creating a community that places the health and well-being of citizens at the heart of our city-building efforts.

Through the City’s unique and accessible programming, fitness members are inspired and supported as they work to achieve their personal wellness goals. In Vaughan, we will continue to promote and advocate for our residents to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle. Once again, I extend my congratulations to staff for their diligence and creativity.”
