Statement on wind storm cleanup in Vaughan

Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua has issued the following statement.
 
The City of Vaughan continues to work with its partners to respond to the damage caused by the wind storm today.
 
Thankfully, no injuries have been reported, however, several hydro poles and trees are down in areas across the City, with Woodbridge being most heavily affected by the storm.
 
I would like to take this opportunity to extend my sincere appreciation to all of the first responders who have been dealing with this situation. Alectra, Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service, the City’s Transportation Services, Parks and Forestry Operations department, by-law and compliance, and community centre staff have been and will continue to respond to this situation to ensure the safety and security of residents.

The majority of the power outages have been restored thanks to the efforts of Alectra crews. To report a power outage, call Alectra at 1-877-963-6900.
