Road closures in Vaughan following wind storm
Several hydro
poles and trees are down in the City of Vaughan this evening following a wind
storm on Sunday afternoon.
The following roads are closed to traffic:
- Islington Avenue between Kiloran Avenue on the south and Wycliffe Avenue/Arista Gate on the north end – anticipate it will be closed until tomorrow night

Highway 27 northbound from Langstaff Road to Martin Grove Road
Please use alternate routes around these closed sections. Updates on
closures will be posted on the City’s website and social media sites as they
become available. For safety reasons, some road sections may remain closed to
traffic throughout the night and into tomorrow morning.
The City is working with Alectra to regain power as soon as possible.

No injuries have been reported at this time. Residents should stay at
home and pull out their emergency kits. If residents must go out, they are
reminded to treat all traffic intersections with non-functioning lights as a
four-way stop.
