On April 17, the City of Vaughan is participating in 20-Minute Makeover, a national environmental movement to pick up litter off the streets. The annual event encourages people to take 20 minutes to pick up garbage in their community and raises awareness of waste-reduction practices.
In honour of Earth Day, several 20-Minute Makeover kick-off events will be held at various schools across Vaughan to create awareness and inspire people to care for the environment. A main event will take place at Fossil Hill Public School with Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua.
Media are invited to participate. Staff, students and Vaughan Council will be on hand to speak about how 20 minutes can go a long way.
