VFRS reminds everyone to exercise caution with outdoor fires

Due to the improving weather conditions, Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service (VFRS) has lifted the temporary burn ban put in place on June 6.

Although the ban has been lifted, VFRS is advising you to continue to exercise caution when conducting permitted open-air burning, and using outdoor firepits and barbecues.

If you are using an outdoor flame of any type, remember these tips:

  • Follow all provincial and/or local permit requirements.
  • Never leave a fire of any kind unattended.
  • Use only clean, safe fuel.
  • Be aware of changes to the wind.
  • Have a method to extinguish a fire close at hand (fire extinguisher or sand).

You can learn more about fire burn permits on the City’s website. More information on fire safety is available at vaughan.ca/fire.
