Treescapes, the first installment in the City’s new annual Planet Earth Series art exhibition, will be on public display at the Vaughan Atrium Gallery from March 14 to April 26. The exhibition coincides with two dates dedicated to championing international awareness of global ecological conservation and environmental sustainability: Earth Hour on March 23 and Earth Day on April 22.
The exhibit features the work of award-winning Vaughan photographer Amanda Arcuri. Arcuri explores the relationship between man and nature by interpreting tree populated landscapes as forested sanctuaries as well as fragile commodities in a world focused on renewable resources. The 20 "treescapes" featured in this exhibition represent the photographer’s commentary on how nature is perceived as a “disposable commodity."
Members of the public are welcome to view the exhibition Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more information on the exhibit, visit www.vaughan.ca.
