UPDATE: Extended hours at select voting locations in Vaughan

Voting hours at select Vaughan voting locations will be extended, due to technical administrative challenges that impacted standard voting hours. Ballots continue to be cast and all votes are being counted.

Before you head out, please confirm the details of your voting location on the second page of your Voter Information Letter. Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital is NOT a public voting location – it is only available to hospital patients. If you are unsure of your designated voting location, please call the City at 905-832-2281 or email accessvaughan@vaughan.ca.

How do I know if I am eligible to vote?

To be eligible to vote in the 2022 Municipal Election, you must be:

• a Canadian citizen.
• over the age of 18.
• either a resident of the city of Vaughan, or an owner or tenant of property within the city, or the spouse of an owner or tenant of property in Vaughan. 
• not prohibited from voting under any law. 

Where do I vote and what do I need to bring with me? 

You will find your designated voting location at the top of the second page of your Voter Information Letter. You must bring valid identification with your name and Vaughan home address to be issued a ballot. For a list of acceptable forms of identification, visit vaughan.ca/elections.

Yes. The City of Vaughan is committed to treating all people in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. This includes ensuring that Municipal Elections are accessible to everyone. All voting locations are accessible, and entrances are marked with the universal access symbol and are within close proximity of the parking lot.

Who am I voting for? 

You are voting for Vaughan Council members and School Board Trustees. Vaughan Council will be made up of 10 members – one Mayor, four Local and Regional Councillors, and five Local Councillors. The Mayor is elected as the head of Council and Local and Regional Councillors are elected to represent Vaughan at local and regional levels. Local Councillors are elected to represent their wards on Vaughan Council. School Board Trustees are elected to act as their community’s advocate for public education.
