Vaughan announces business mission to China
Ten-day mission aims to increase trade and build new relationships
The City of Vaughan hosted an information session with more than 50 business representatives yesterday and announced that it is leading an innovative business mission to China in October. As part of the City’s International Business Development Program, the primary goal of this mission is to develop trade relationships in China and establish Vaughan as a preferred location for Chinese investments.
The Chinese domestic market is diverse and expanding rapidly. Recognizing it can be a challenge for small- or medium-sized businesses to tap into this growing market, this mission will help to identify appropriate market entry strategies. The team will work with participants to develop strategic partnerships with Chinese companies, provide expertise on entering the Chinese market and help to set up cost effective distribution channels.
To optimize the success of this mission, the City has partnered with the Canada China Business Council, Global Linkages, consulate offices and government agencies to organize a series of activities designed to achieve a high return on investment for all the business mission participants. The mission is being led by Ward 4 Councillor Sandra Yeung Racco and includes Ward 3 Councillor Rosanna DeFrancesca, as well as business representatives from Vaughan
and the Greater Toronto Area.
The mission will include high-level meetings with Chinese government officials in five major cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Yangzhou, Nanjing and Hong Kong. The mission will include one-on-one meetings with companies focused on the exchange of products and services between China and North America.
