With thousands of people in attendance each year, Canada Day in Vaughan brings residents together to celebrate the long and proud history of Canada. As a City that speaks 99 different languages, Vaughan takes great pride in appreciating the arts and how they contribute to the cultural mosaic that makes up our diverse community. The free family event is a great way to show civic pride and celebrate all things Canadian.
Presented by TD and event sponsors CN, TransCanada Corporation and Tim Hortons, the family friendly event features a kidz zone with inflatables, face painting and fun activities, food available for purchase, and an official welcome by Mayor and Members of Council at 4:45 p.m.
The City is also running a contest where four lucky Vaughan residents and their guests will get a special concert experience and meet Lights before the show. Until 11:59 p.m. on June 26, residents can enter by submitting a photo of themselves with a Canada flag. For more information, please visit vaughan.ca/contests.

“Canada Day is an important event to celebrate what it truly means to be Canadian. We are fortunate to live in a country where the spirit of generosity, compassion, understanding, tolerance and optimism are but a few of the sound values that shape our celebrated nation. On July 1 the City of Vaughan will once again host our annual Canada Day event to pay tribute to our country and express gratitude for the many gifts it has given us. As one of the largest and most well attended Canada Day events in the GTA, these festivities bring thousands of people to Vaughan to enjoy our family friendly activities and incredible live entertainment.
