Vaughan appoints new City Clerk

Todd Coles to assume the role today
 
The City of Vaughan is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Todd Coles as City Clerk, effective April 11, 2018.

Mr. Coles is a public servant with more than 20 years of experience in municipal government. He currently holds the position of Deputy City Clerk for the City of Vaughan, where his responsibilities include leading the Council-Committee Secretariat, providing professional procedural and governance advice to the Mayor and Members of Council and to City staff, facilitating interaction between members of the public and Council, and overseeing Council's appointments process.
 
Mr. Coles has held many roles within the City of Vaughan. Starting in 1995 as the Committee of Adjustment Technician, to being a planner and then a Manager of Development Services and Secretary-Treasurer to Committee of Adjustment, Todd has played an active role in city-building. He recently served as the Deputy City Clerk and Manager of Administrative Services, and has been instrumental in implementing the Lobbyist Registry and the internal Committee and Council agenda management software, eScribe.

  • Mr. Coles has an honours bachelor of environmental studies (urban and regional planning) degree from the University of Waterloo and a masters certificate in municipal leadership from Schulich School of Business, York University.
  • Mr. Coles is also a Registered Professional Planner (RPP).
