Vaughan Celebrates 2021
The show went on in Vaughan in 2021 despite the global COVID-19 pandemic. Thousands of people tuned in to enjoy the City’s virtual award-winning Vaughan Celebrates events throughout the year at Winterfest, Canada Day and Concerts in the Park.
Winterfest
In February
2021, the community took part in the 32nd annual Vaughan Celebrates Winterfest
presented by TD and event sponsor Tim Hortons. This free family-friendly event
was emceed by YTV’s Duhin and Spencer, and featured performances from platinum-selling
artist and JUNO Award nominee Tyler Shaw, Roberta Battaglia, Doo Doo the Clown,
Zero Gravity Circus, The Magen Boys, TEAM T&J, as well as an interactive
science demo by Mad Science.
Concerts in
the Park
The
27th annual Vaughan Celebrates Concerts in the Park series presented by TD and
event sponsor Tim Hortons kicked off virtually in June. The series ran on
select Wednesdays in June and July.
This year’s schedule featured professional entertainment for all ages with genres like disco, pop, oldies, reggae and rock. The launch of the series featured multi-platinum and multiple JUNO Award-nominated iconic band Platinum Blonde with additional performances from Face 2 Face – Tribute to Billy Joel and Elton John, Exodus – Tribute to Bob Marley, Disco Fever, Shania Twin – Tribute to Shania Twain and Jersey Seasons – Tribute to Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.
Canada Day
This year’s Vaughan
Celebrates Canada Day lineup was headlined by Canadian musicians and JUNO Award
winners Sam Roberts Band, with special guest Jully Black, dubbed Canada’s queen
of R&B and a JUNO Award winner. The celebration was presented by TD and
event sponsor Tim Hortons.
Other family-friendly performances included Practically Hip, Tribute to Tragically Hip; Girl Pow-R Group; Bounce Entertainment and more. The event was emceed by JUNO-nominated singer, actress and co-host of Rogers Hometown Hockey and host of Top of Her Game, Tara Slone.

In addition to the Vaughan Celebrates series, the City also held virtual Black History Month, Earth Hour, Remembrance Day, Accessibility Champion Awards, Menorah Lighting Ceremony, Christmas Tree Lighting and Order of Vaughan events.
