Vaughan Launches 2013 Israel International Business Development Program
Vaughan’s business community is invited to attend the official launch of the City’s 2013 Israel International Business Development Program on June 27 at Vaughan City Hall from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Israel is recognized as one of the most dynamic and innovative economies in the world, and the City of Vaughan will be launching a program designed to help businesses engage and collaborate with this thriving economy.
“Israel presents Vaughan with significant opportunities for growth and expansion, and I invite members of our business community to join us to learn how they can become a valuable member of our delegation to Israel this fall,” said Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua. “This business mission to Israel will allow us to build strategic relationships with leading Israeli companies, network with high-level government officials, and gain perspective into Israel’s rapidly developing industrial, financial and high-tech service sectors. As a growing city, it’s vital that we maintain a competitive advantage in today’s global economy.”
A key component of the business development program involves a business mission to Israel scheduled to take place from September 28 to October 6, 2013 with travel centred in Tel Aviv, Haifa and Jerusalem. The mission will focus on a number of innovative industry sectors including advanced manufacturing, environmental and green products, security, information technology, and scientific and technical products.
The 2013 Vaughan Business Mission to Israel will be led by Mayor Bevilacqua, Ward 2 Councillor Tony Carella, Ward 5 Councillor Alan Shefman, and will include business representatives from the Greater Toronto Area. The City has partnered with the United Jewish Appeal Federation (UJA), the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, the Government of Israel Economic Mission to Canada, Canada Israel Chamber of Commerce and ColdSpring Commerce to organize a series of activities designed to achieve a high return on investment for all the business mission participants.
Business delegates who participate in the mission will benefit from:
- Meeting face-to-face with a diverse and pre-qualified group of Israeli companies that are actively searching for strategic partners in the City of Vaughan.
- Participating in exclusive business events that will attract more than 100 Israeli businesses in Tel Aviv and Haifa.
- Meeting with the Israeli Consular General and other high-level government officials.
- Touring local businesses and participating in pre-arranged business appointments.
Businesses and the media are invited to attend the launch event on June 27 at Vaughan City Hall which will include an address by Mayor Bevilacqua and other dignitaries followed by an information session to learn more about the Vaughan Israel International Business Development Program and 2013 Business Mission to Israel.
