Here’s some more information about the winning Vaughan project – the JDE Implementation Program: Time and Labour Project.

ABOUT JDE

JDE is the City’s Enterprise Resource Planning system that offers a suite of integrated applications for financial management, procurement, human resources, and asset management, to name a few. The goal of the JDE Program is to increase automation, improve processes and gain efficiencies to further support staff in delivering Service Excellence to Vaughan residents. The JDE Program is part of the City's Finance Modernization Strategy, which aims to transform and improve the organization's operations by modernizing business processes and procedures, and reviewing governance, policies and capacity.

Vaughan’s JDE Program consists of five projects: employee self-service; time and labour; job costs/projects; fixed assets/tangible capital assets; and work orders/preventative maintenance/equipment master.

ABOUT THE TIME AND LABOUR PROJECT

The new Time and Labour function in JDE automates the time and attendance record-keeping process, and provides an internal web-based interface for time entry and approval. As a result:

  • employee information is centralized, making it easier to manage.

  • the time-off request process is simplified, with streamlined approvals.

  • staff have direct access to their available time and labour balances, such as vacation, lieu available, lieu taken, sick day(s), etc.
