Vaughan Screens Short Film for Black History Month

​Audience Address Delivered by Acclaimed Canadian Actress

Fans of film are invited to a free screening of the short documentary A Commemorative Tour of Owen Sound’s Black History Heritage on Saturday, Feb. 21 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Vaughan City Hall in recognition of Black History Month. Official welcome to commence at 2:30 p.m.

The free event features several guest speakers, including Ngozi Paul, the award-winning Canadian actress, co-creator and co-producer of the TV drama series Da Kink in My Hair. Refreshments will be served. 

The Thornhill African Caribbean Canadian Association is presenting the film in partnership with the City of Vaughan. The film highlights black history tour sites throughout the City of Owen Sound, including the black history museum and a tour of Harrison Park – the site of the Emancipation Celebration Picnic for the past 145 years.
