Vaughan Searches for Homes and Businesses with 'Curb Appeal'
Vaughan has launched its sixth annual Curb Appeal Program as part of the City’s “My Vaughan Blooms” initiative. The program is designed to recognize and thank homeowners and businesses who continue to beautify and maintain their properties.
During the months of July and August, volunteers from the community will search the City for homes and businesses with curb appeal. Properties will be selected that showcase pride of ownership and a “Curb Appeal” sign will be placed on the front lawn of selected properties. 600 signs will be placed across the City and the winners will be invited to a presentation at City Council in September to acknowledge their achievements.
Suggestions to help beautify properties and show community spirit include:
• Adding variety, colour and textures in the plants selected
• Using drought resistant plantings
• Implementing environmental measures such as rain barrels
• Utilizing mulch to help retain moisture
