If you did not receive your card, you can still vote in the 2019 York Region District School Board By-election

Beginning the week of April 8, the City of Vaughan will mail out Voter Information Cards to eligible voters in the York Region District School Board (YRDSB) By-election. Residents are encouraged to keep this card in a safe place and bring it along with one piece of identification when casting their ballot for Trustee, Vaughan Ward 1 and 2.

The Voter Information Card has everything you need to know to vote. This includes advance vote dates, what to bring with you, voting locations and times the polls are open.

If you are an eligible voter and did not receive your Voter Information Card, you can still vote. With appropriate identification (PDF) such as a driver’s license or another form of identification with your name and address on it, you will be added to the voters’ list in person at any polling location.

To see if you are registered on the voters’ list, use the Am I On the List? online lookup tool. If you are an eligible voter and are not registered, you may add yourself online or by completing Voters' List Revision Forms (PDF) and taking them to the Office of the City Clerk at Vaughan City Hall.

The 2019 YRDSB By-election is being held to fill the vacant position of Trustee, Vaughan Ward 1 and 2 on Thursday, April 25. Two advance voting days will be held on Tuesday, April 23 and Wednesday, April 24. The Trustee is elected by residents, is responsible for helping set operational policies for all public schools in York Region, is guided by the Education Act and typically serves a four-year term. The current term will end November 2022.
