Vaughan will be rockin’ around the Christmas tree!
Attend the annual tree
lighting ceremony tonight at 7 p.m. at City Hall
O, Christmas tree, o, Christmas tree, how lovely are your branches!
Tonight at 7 p.m., the City of Vaughan will host its annual Christmas tree
lighting ceremony – and you’re invited to attend. Come in person to the
courtyard at Vaughan City Hall (located at 2141 Major Mackenzie Dr.) to watch as the City’s 38-foot
Colorado Blue Spruce comes to life!
The family-friendly
celebration will include an official welcome from Mayor Steven Del Duca and
Members of Council, photos with Santa Claus, crafts, mural colouring and other
interactive activities before the countdown to light up the tree.
This annual event
brings more than just holiday cheer to Vaughan families, it is also a reminder
of the true meaning behind the season – to give back. The City is accepting
donations for its 13th Annual Toy Drive in support of the CP24 CHUM Christmas
Wish until Friday, Dec. 9. Bring a new unwrapped toy for children aged newborn
to 18 years old to help ensure everyone has a happy holiday this year. All
donations will be directed to the CP24 CHUM Christmas Wish, which supplies
registered charitable organizations, social service agencies, churches and
community centres with new, unwrapped toys and financial donations throughout
the Greater Toronto Area.
