City of Vaughan
Welcome back, swimmers and fitness members! Today, as part of the Province of Ontario’s Step 3 in the Roadmap to Reopening, the City of Vaughan’s indoor pools and fitness centres are now open.

Pre-registration is required for all pool and fitness centre use. Existing members must reactivate their membership in advance. The City put all fitness and pool memberships on a temporary hold for the duration of the community centres’ closures. Members must have an active membership to book a time block for a workout, recreational/length swim and aquafitness classes. Members who do not reactivate their membership will be required to pay a single-visit fee. To reactivate a membership, email RecCSD@vaughan.ca or call Access Vaughan at 905-832-2281. At this time, please be aware that call volumes remain high. We’re just as excited to welcome you back and appreciate your patience.

Fitness centres

Vaughan fitness centres are operating under the guidance of public health authorities. This includes controlled access, capacity limits of up to 50 per cent where physical distancing permits, scheduled 75-minute workout time blocks and a 15-minute shutdown in between appointments for cleaning.

All fitness centres are open with the exception of Garnet A. Williams Community Centre while renovations are underway. Members will be able to exercise nearby at a temporary fitness facility secured by the City in the plaza behind Promenade Mall at 7700 Bathurst St., Unit 1. The Maple fitness centre will re-open once the COVID-19 vaccination clinic closes with timelines to be determined by York Region Public Health.

Members can register for a workout four days and two hours in advance. For further details, visit vaughan.ca/fitness.

Fitness classes

In-person outdoor fitness classes will continue to run at select Vaughan community centres until Saturday, July 24. Classes are free for members and non-members will be required to pay a single class fee. A new fitness class schedule featuring indoor classes, along with livestreaming options via Zoom, will start on Tuesday, Aug. 3. Virtual fitness classes delivered via Zoom and YouTube continue to be offered until Friday, July 30. For more details, visit vaughan.ca/fitness.

Indoor pools

Pools are operating based on the guidance of public health authorities. This includes controlled access, capacity limits of up to 50 per cent where physical distancing permits, scheduled 60-minute pool time blocks and a 30-minute shutdown in between for cleaning and sanitization. Spas and diving boards will be available to use. Water slides will remain closed until further notice.

Members and residents can register for a recreational or length swim or aquafitness class four days and two hours in advance. Non-members and non-residents can register for a swim or aquafitness class two days and two hours in advance. For details, visit vaughan.ca/swim.
