Whether you’ve recently moved to Vaughan or if you’ve lived here for several years, we want to help make your waste collection days go off without a hitch! Check out our top tips to ensure you’re prepared the next time our waste collectors visit your street:

Don’t miss the waste set-out time

Our collection crews are on a tight schedule, so make sure you are ready! Place all waste items curbside by 7 a.m. on your collection day. Staff will not return for materials set out late. The pickup time on your regular collection day can vary from week to week, and you may notice crews collecting waste into the evening depending on the standard routes or potential delays due to inclement weather.

Check your Waste Collection Schedule for upcoming collection services

The 2024 Waste Collection Schedule is your guide for everything you need to know about upcoming collection days and programs, such as Double-Up Days and leaf and yard waste, which bins and bags are accepted curbside and much more.

Go online to learn what goes where

Are you unsure where to dispose of something? Don’t guess – check using the City’s online ‘What Goes Where?’ sorting tool! You can also download the Recycle Coach app through the Apple App Store or Google Play to confirm where waste items belong. The app provides waste-less tips and a personalized collection schedule with optional alerts on what to put to the curb each week.

Buy a new blue box or green bin online

If you need a new blue box or green bin, you can purchase them online through Service Vaughan and have them delivered right to your home! Alternatively, you can buy bins at the following community centres, while supplies last:
