The nomination period for the 2022 Municipal Election has now closed. Vaughan’s City Clerk has declared Donald Blais elected by acclamation as the School Board Trustee – York Region – for the Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir as the sole nomination received for the position.

Are you ready to vote in the 2022 Municipal Election?

The Advance Vote begins on Thursday, Oct. 6 and runs continuously until Thursday, Oct. 20.
The Advance Vote will be held online and at Voter Assistance Centres. Voters without access to a digital device, such as a computer, tablet or phone, or those who do not have access to the internet, or who did not receive a Voter Information Letter may attend a Voter Assistance Centre to vote at a kiosk or to be added to the Voters’ List and be issued a Voter Information Letter. A link to Vaughan’s online voting platform will be shared at vaughan.ca/elections soon. Check back often for updates, including the list of locations for the Voter Assistance Centres.

Voting Day for the 2022 Municipal Election is Monday, Oct. 24.
To be eligible to vote in the 2022 Municipal Election, you must be:
  • a Canadian citizen.
  • at least 18 years of age or older.
  • either a resident of the city of Vaughan, or an owner or tenant of property in the city of Vaughan, or the spouse of an owner or tenant of property in the city of Vaughan.
  • not prohibited from voting under Section 17, subsection (3) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, or otherwise by law.
If you are on the Voters’ List, you will receive your credentials and assigned voting location by mail on your Voter Information Letter. Polling stations will be open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Voting Day (please note that some locations may operate on reduced or alternative hours, check your Voter Information Letter for details).
