The City of Vaughan’s online Advance Vote is now closed, which means your next – and final – opportunity to vote in the 2022 Municipal Election is in-person at a polling station on Voting Day, Monday, Oct. 24.

Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Please confirm details on your Voter Information Letter as some locations may operate with alternate hours.

How do I know if I am eligible to vote?
To be eligible to vote in the 2022 Municipal Election, you must be:
  • a Canadian citizen.
  • over the age of 18.
  • either a resident of the city of Vaughan, or an owner or tenant of property within the city, or the spouse of an owner or tenant of property in Vaughan.
  • not prohibited from voting under any law.

How can I vote online?
The online Advance Vote is closed. The next opportunity to vote is in-person on Voting Day – Monday, Oct. 24.

Are measures in place to meet accessibility needs on Voting Day?
Yes. The City of Vaughan is committed to treating all people in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. This includes ensuring that Municipal Elections are accessible to everyone. All voting locations will be accessible, and entrances will be well marked with the universal access symbol and be within close proximity of the parking lot.


Where do I vote and what do I need to bring with me?
You will find your designated voting location on your Voter Information Letter. You must bring valid identification with your name and Vaughan home address to be issued a ballot. For a list of acceptable forms of identification, visit vaughan.ca/elections.

Can I register to vote on someone’s behalf or elect someone to vote on my behalf?
Yes, but the deadline to register is today. An eligible elector on the Voters' List may appoint another eligible elector on the Voters' List to act as a voting proxy to cast a ballot in-person on their behalf on Voting Day.

To elect a voting proxy, you must fill out two copies of the Appointment for Voting Proxy form (PDF). Application forms must be submitted by the voting proxy by 4:30 p.m. today – Friday, Oct. 21 – in-person at Vaughan City Hall, in the Office of the City Clerk, located on the first floor.

The person who appointed the proxy is not required to go with the voting proxy to the Clerk’s office. The voting proxy must have copies of the voter’s identification and present the two signed copies of the form at the Clerk’s office (or another location designated by the Clerk) today, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
