Watch your mailbox for the 2019 waste calendar

The City’s waste calendar includes schedules and tips on our collection services

The City of Vaughan’s 2019 waste calendar will be arriving in mailboxes across Vaughan during the next few days. It includes important information for residents such as set out times, leaf and yard waste collection, and acceptable waste container sizes.
The calendar, which is available to view or download at vaughan.ca/waste, also provides details on acceptable and unacceptable items for blue box recycling and green bin organics, the annual Double-Up Days, Environmental Days, Curbside Giveaway dates, National Public Works Week and Waste Reduction Week, and our local York Region Waste Depot.

Please note, waste collection (PDF) during the holidays will move one day later the weeks of Dec. 25, 2018 and Jan. 1, 2019. Christmas tree collection will occur from Jan. 8 to 18. Residents can also drop off trees at the Bloomington Yard Waste Depot at 1351 Bloomington Rd. E. or set them out for pickup during the City’s spring leaf and yard waste program beginning April 23.

Blue boxes and green bins are collected weekly, and garbage is picked up every other week. All waste must be set out by 7 a.m. each collection day. To determine your schedule, find your colour (yellow or blue) on the back of the calendar and follow that colour throughout the year. You can also download the free MyWaste mobile app to receive notifications and reminders on your phone.
