Where to get waste information in Vaughan
The City is your guide on waste collection services and programs!
Need a reminder of which day your waste is collected? Unsure what waste items go where? Looking to buy a new blue box or green bin? Let the City of Vaughan be your guide on all things waste collection services and programs!
There are a few different places you can get the most accurate waste information:
1. Check your 2024 Waste Collection Schedule
The 2024 Waste Collection Schedule is your number one source for everything you need to know about upcoming collection days and programs, such as Double-Up Days and leaf and yard waste, which bins and bags are accepted curbside and much more. Keep it posted somewhere handy in your home for easy access. You can also view or download a digital copy.
Stay tuned for the 2025 Waste Collection Schedule, which will begin hitting mailboxes in early December!
2. Visit vaughan.ca/waste
The City’s website at vaughan.ca/waste has resources for all your waste disposal needs. This includes information on:
- garbage, blue box recycling and green bin organics collections
- hazardous waste disposal
- how to sign up for a City bin exchange
- large, bulky items and appliance and metal collections
- leaf and yard waste collection
- textile waste donation
- what waste items go where
- where to buy new blue boxes and green bins
- and much more!
3. Download the Recycle Coach app
You can download the Recycle Coach app to your smartphone or tablet from the Apple App Store or Google Play. It provides waste-less tips and your personalized collection schedule, and you can sign up for notifications on what to put to the curb each week. The app also includes a sorting tool so you can look up what waste items go where.
