Every month, the City releases popular questions received and responded to by Access Vaughan in a series called ‘You Asked, We Answered.’ Below are the top five inquiries received in August.

1. Where do I report littering or dumping in Vaughan?

By-laws are in place to help keep neighbourhoods in Vaughan clean. For the safety and well-being of everyone in the community, including front-line staff, littering and dumping are prohibited under the Littering and Dumping By-law 103-2020 (PDF). As well, citizens must pick up after themselves and their pets, whether on public or private property. To report an instance of littering or dumping in Vaughan, please call Access Vaughan at 905-832-2281 or accessvaughan@vaughan.ca.

2. Where do I request maintenance for grass, trees or shrubs on public property?

The City manages more than 200 parks and more than 1,000 hectares of parks and open space land. Grass on these lands, where appropriate, is cut on a two-week rotation. If you see an area of public property that needs grass cutting or other maintenance, fill out the online form through Service Vaughan. Alternatively, you can request maintenance through Access Vaughan by calling 905-832-2281 or emailing accessvaughan@vaughan.ca.
