Every month, the City releases popular questions received and responded to by Access Vaughan in a series called ‘You Asked, We Answered.’ Below are the top five inquiries received in June.

1. Where can I get a new City-branded blue box or green bin?

Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, citizens can purchase garbage tags, blue boxes and green bins online through Service Vaughan with a click of a button and have them delivered directly to their home. First-time applicants must register on Service Vaughan and complete the required form, including full name, address and email. The system will prompt the applicant through this process and verify the email and password information. Once the applicant has registered successfully, they will be redirected to a login screen.

Returning users can log in to the system with the email and password they previously created. Once logged into the system, users can choose their required service. The listed fee includes delivery.
  • Green organics bin with home delivery – $26.39 (plus HST)
  • Blue box with home delivery – $14 (plus HST)
Accepted forms of payment are MasterCard, Visa and American Express (no debit). Once ordered, an email confirming the delivery date will be issued.
Exchanging damaged City-issued blue boxes and green bins is just as convenient – citizens can also request replacements through Service Vaughan with home delivery included. Broken bins are collected for recycling when replacements are dropped off, contributing to the City’s commitment to reduce materials sent to landfills.

Scheduled disputes are being conducted over the phone until further notice. 4. When will the City award Curb Appeal signs on winning properties?

Recognized properties will receive a Curb Appeal sign on their lawn in July or August to show their neighbourhood their dedication to beautification. Citizens can nominate a homeowner or business by calling Access Vaughan at 905-832-2281 or emailing curbappeal@vaughan.ca, including the property’s address. The nomination period is open until tomorrow, Sunday, July 4, 2021.
