Dog and Cat Adoptions

Adopting an animal can be a rewarding experience.

All family members should come into the shelter before adopting an animal. Adopters must be 18 years of age or older and will need to fill out an application before final approval.

Adoption Event 

When: Sunday, Nov. 17 | 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. No appointment needed.

ANIMALADOPTION FEES 
Cat$50 per animal
Kitten$175 per animal
Dog$100 per animal
Puppy$275 per animal

Fee includes rabies vaccines, sterilization, microchip implantation. For Vaughan residents, it also includes the first annual pet licence. Debit and credit are accepted. Cash is not accepted.

 

Adopters must:

  • be 18 years of age or older and show government-issued photo ID.
  • submit an application.

 

For cat adoptions:

  • Bring a carrier to safely transport your new pet home.

 

For dog adoptions:

  • All household members must attend to meet the potential pet.
  • Successful adopters will be notified within the week and an appointment will be booked for you to pick up your new pet.

 


 

The City of Vaughan is dedicated to finding safe and happy forever homes for all animals in the shelter.
