The Vaughan Complete Streets Design Guidelines take place in the following phases:

 

Phase 1 – Existing Conditions (August to November 2021) COMPLETE

  • Developed a work plan
  • Created a report template
  • Reviewed existing conditions
  • Performed a background review
  • Performed a review of policies, requirements and criteria for the guidelines

 

Phase 2 – Communication and Engagement

  • Developed a communication and consultation strategy development (October to November 2021) COMPLETE
  • Online Mapping Exercise - Survey Feedback (June-July 2022)

 

Phase 3 – Street Design and Classification (October 2021 to February 2023) COMPLETE

  • Review draft Vaughan Transportation Plan
  • Develop cross-section
  • Refine Vaughan Transportation Plan classes for street context

 

Phase 4 – Draft Guidelines (December 2022 – August 2023)

  • Develop draft Complete Streets Guidelines
  • Define background and existing conditions

 

Phase 5 – Prioritization and Implementation (June to August 2023)

  • Create implementation actions
  • Develop phasing plan
  • Prioritize street retrofit list
  • Develop funding and cost estimates

 

Phase 6 – Final Guidelines (August – December 2023)
