Adopt a ‘fur-ever’ friend!

Attend Vaughan Animal Services’ adoption event on Nov. 17

Looking to adopt a furry friend? If you have considered opening your home to an animal in need, the Vaughan Animal Shelter has plenty of pets that can’t wait to meet you!

Tomorrow, on Sunday, Nov. 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Vaughan Animal Services is hosting an adoption event for cats and dogs in their care at 70 Tigi Crt., Unit 47. No appointment is needed!

During the event, adoption fees will be reduced to $50 for cats and $100 for dogs. Kittens and puppies will also be available with a regular adoption fee of $175 for kittens and $275 for puppies. This fee covers the cost of rabies vaccines, sterilization, microchip implantation. For Vaughan residents, it also includes the first annual pet licence. Debit and credit are accepted. Cash is not accepted.

To adopt an animal, you must be 18 years of age or older, show government-issued photo ID and submit an adoption application. If you are looking to adopt a cat, remember to bring a carrier to safely transport your new feline family member home that day. If you would like to adopt a dog, be sure to bring all household members to meet the animal you are hoping to adopt. If your application is approved, you will be notified within the week and an appointment will be booked for you to pick up your new pet and bring them home.
