Beat the heat at one of Vaughan’s community centres, pools or splash pads
The heat is on. If
you are looking for ways to stay cool during this hot weather, the City of
Vaughan has you covered.
The City’s indoor pools and splash pads offer a great way to
beat the heat and are open for you to enjoy. Vaughan’s 17 outdoor splash pads
are open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Vaughan’s 10
community centres offer air-conditioned public spaces, washrooms and change
rooms as well as water-bottle filling stations. They are open during regularly
scheduled hours. A full list of community centres and their hours of operation
can be found at vaughan.ca/recreation.
The City is reminding
residents there are many other ways to beat the heat:
- Remain indoors in cool, well-ventilated areas
- Wear loose-fitting, light-coloured clothing made of breathable fabric
- If you do not have air conditioning in your home, go to places that do, including shopping malls and local libraries
- When using fans, keep a window or door open to bring in cooler air from outside
Vaughan Animal
Services
is also advising people to never leave a pet in a car or unattended outside on
hot days.
