WHAT:            
Join Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council as they welcome the community to recognize Black History Month. Presented by the Thornhill African Caribbean Canadian Association (TACCA), the event will feature special guests, including Dr. Elizabeth Sinclair, who will address education in the black community and the importance of setting the stage for future success. Speaking at the event is the City’s very own Suzanne Craig, Integrity Commissioner and Lobbyist Registrar, who will address the audience with a special presentation. Also featured is a reading of original poems by author and poet Nadine Williams entitled Viola's Ten, Rooted and The Fabric of Our Being. There will be an opportunity to enjoy cultural food tastings and live music with the TACCA steel drum band.
