Celebrate Canada Day in Vaughan

returns in-person with multiple JUNO Award nominee artist Scott Helman
You’re invited!
Come on out and celebrate Canada’s 155th birthday at one of the largest parties
in York Region. The City of Vaughan’s award-winning annual Canada Day event is
back in-person on Friday, July 1, and it’s going to be better than ever! The
2022 celebration will be hosted at Boyd Conservation Area (8739 Islington Ave.)
from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., headlined by multiple JUNO Award nominee Scott Helman.
This
fun-filled free family event will include arts and crafts, interactive
activities, life-sized games, yard games, ping pong and foosball tables, stilt
walkers, character meet-and-greets, video game stations and so much more.
Guests will also enjoy free admission, giveaways (while quantities last) and
food will be available for purchase.
Exciting
live entertainment hosted by Julia Suppa, an award-winning,
multi-platform media professional, is planned throughout the day. The full live
entertainment schedule includes:
- Scott Helman, Canadian singer/songwriter and multiple JUNO Award nominee artist
- David James, Canadian country music singer/songwriter
- Olivia Lunny, Canadian musician and winner of CTV’s The Launch
- Stuck On Planet Earth, Canadian rock band from Vaughan
- Exodus – A Tribute to Bob Marley
- Kreative in Dance Styles (K.I.D.S)
An official
welcome with Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua and Members of Council will take place
at 6:30 p.m.
Dignitaries,
including Gimaa (Chief) Stacey Laforme of the Mississaugas of the Credit First
Nation, will also be in attendance.
Limited
parking is available at the event site. Guests are encouraged to ride the free shuttle
bus services running between Al Palladini Community Centre (9201 Islington
Ave.) and Boyd Conservation Area (8739 Islington Ave.). The service will run
regularly from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
