Celebrating International Women’s Day in Vaughan

International Women’s Day has grown into a global day of recognition, acknowledgement and celebration of women that reflects upon their achievements and struggles. The City of Vaughan will commemorate this important day by hosting its annual International Women’s Day event, virtually, on Tuesday, March 8 at 11 a.m. at vaughan.ca/events.
This year’s celebration will be emceed by on-air personality Stella Acquisto and will feature performances from Gem Shadou and Girl Pow-R. There will also be a series of guest speakers throughout the event including:
- Eti Ayzenberg – registered nurse, emergency room department, Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital
- Margie Singleton – Chief Executive Officer, Vaughan Public Libraries
- Wendy Law – Deputy City Manager, Legal and Administrative Services and City Solicitor, City of Vaughan
- Elder Carolyn King - former Chief of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, The Moccasin Identifier Project
- GG Sisters - Laura and Josie Cannone, franchisers and entrepreneurs
