Vaughan adds more services online
Development applications, engineering drawings
and pool-related requests can now be submitted through Service Vaughan
The City of
Vaughan’s online reporting tool – Service Vaughan – continues to expand.
The platform allows citizens to submit service requests easily, report non-emergencies
and track submissions 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
In an effort to further
provide Service Excellence to the community, the City has added the following
new services online:
Infrastructure engineering
drawing requests
A wide range of engineering
drawings are collected and stored by the City – these are now available to the
public upon request through Service Vaughan. For an administration fee,
individuals can submit a request online for all types of infrastructure drawings,
including bridges, culverts, covers, cross sections, streetscaping,
landscaping, pavement markings, grading plans, streetlighting and much more. For
more information on infrastructure engineering drawings, visit vaughan.ca/InfrastructureDrawings.
Pool inspection
requests
Pool permit holders who
initially requested their permit online can now also request in-ground pool
inspections through Service Vaughan. Two inspections are needed before a pool
can be completed, including a by-law fence inspection (before filling the pool
with water) and a final inspection (after all landscaping and restoration work
is complete). For more information on pool inspections, visit vaughan.ca/DEPermits.
Pool permit renewals
As of Jan. 1, 2021, all
in-ground pool permits issued by the City are valid for one year – this applies
to active permits about to expire and active constructions projects that may require
more time. Individuals can now process and pay for their permit renewals online
through Service Vaughan. Permit holders will receive an email notification 30
days before expiry with instructions on how to renew. For more information on
pool permits, visit vaughan.ca/DEPermits.
Service
Vaughan also receives requests for:
- animal services, including getting a pet licence.
- bids and tenders, including application submissions.
- building and development, including development charges and engineering permits.
- by-law, including parking permits and paying for tickets online.
- litter, vandalism and graffiti, including reporting instances across the city.
- employment, including available job postings and application submissions.
- garbage and recycling, including tag purchases, bin exchanges and purchases, missed garbage and recycling collections and more.
- parks, trees and grass, including maintenance requests and complaints.
- recreation, including activity registration.
- roads and sidewalks, including maintenance requests and complaints.
- signs, signals and sidewalks, including reporting an issue.
- water, wastewater and stormwater, including reporting issues, Bulk Water Program registration and more.
Further benefits of the
reporting tool include a tracking feature to check the status of the submitted
inquiry online, the option to receive auto-updates either via email or through
the online tool, and the ability to provide feedback upon completion of the
request. The City is also working on adding additional services to the platform.
Broken glass and
vandalized park equipment are examples of municipal emergencies or problems
that require immediate attention. Call Access Vaughan at 905-832-2281 to report
these types of incidents.
People who do not live
in Vaughan are also able to submit online requests if the inquiry is directly
related to one of Vaughan’s City services. First-time users must create a
username and password. Once the applicant has registered successfully, they
will be redirected to a login screen. Returning users can log in to the system
with the email and password they have previously created.
