QUOTE

“To ensure stable governance in the City of Vaughan, we need to move swiftly to fill the vacant position on Council. In an effort to be fiscally responsible, Members of Council agreed that an appointment was the best option as it would avoid the cost of a by-election. This is an excellent opportunity for a civic-minded person to become involved at the municipal and regional level. By acting now and having someone in place by the end of June, that person will have the summer to deepen their knowledge about the roles and responsibilities of governing as well as receive briefings from the various City departments. With the many city-building initiatives underway, this is a significant year for Vaughan. I look forward to welcoming a new member on Council and working together to continue to take our city to the next level.”
-Mayor Maurizio Bevilacqua
