City Of Vaughan Accepting Nominations For Volunteer Recognition Awards
In celebration of National Volunteer Week, April 15 to 21, the City is inviting not-for-profit organizations and community groups to nominate their most outstanding volunteer of 2011 for a City of Vaughan Volunteer Recognition Award. The nomination deadline is Friday, March 16, 2012.
This year’s theme is “Volunteers: Passion, Action, Impact.” Nominations will be accepted for one of two age groups: Youth volunteers for individuals between the ages of 15 to 24, and adult volunteers for individuals aged 25 years and older. The Mayor and Members of Council will recognize the actions and efforts of these volunteers during an official ceremony held at City Hall on Wednesday, April 18, 2012.
National Volunteer Week pays tribute to the millions of Canadian volunteers who donate their time and energy. During this week-long celebration, people across the country will be thanked and recognized for the outstanding contributions they make to their communities.
