City of Vaughan Investigates Unauthorized Use of Twitter Account
The City of Vaughan’s investigation into an inappropriate message broadcast from
the City’s corporate Twitter account has concluded that the incident was due to
the actions of an unauthorized user.
The City regrets that the tweet was posted and apologizes to our followers. The City has contacted Twitter and is awaiting a response to determine if this unauthorized access can be further investigated.
Twitter, along with our other social media channels, is an important tool that many residents rely on for information. The City will be reactivating the account this afternoon.
