City of Vaughan wins two awards for excellence in economic development
The City’s Economic Development team works hard each day to make Vaughan a place where entrepreneurship, business, tourism, and art can prosper and grow – and their efforts are being noticed once again!
Mayor Steven Del Duca and Members of Council recognized the department during a special ceremonial presentation today for receiving two prestigious International Economic Development Council (IEDC) Excellence in Economic Development Awards.
The Host in Vaughan website – hostinvaughan.ca – received a Gold Award in the Special Purpose Website category, and the Vaughan Healthcare Centre Precinct (VHCP) 2023 Lure Book (PDF) received a Silver Award in the Print Brochure category.
The hostinvaughan.ca website is a one-stop-shop to plan one-of-a-kind events in Vaughan. It features listings of reputable local suppliers and businesses, including transportation, catering, décor and entertainment, to help organize everything from a sports conference to a corporate gala.
In close partnership with Mackenzie Health, York University and ventureLAB, the City leads the VHCP, a first-of-its-kind initiative to transform the lands surrounding Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital into an epicentre of healthcare excellence. To raise the profile of the VHCP among other levels of government, business and trade stakeholders, the City’s Economic Development and Corporate and Strategic Communications departments collaborated to create a lure book which captures the vision, goals and impact of this significant city-building project.
The IEDC Awards is an international economic development competition that recognizes outstanding achievements by marketing and communications professionals from more than 25 countries.
